Head of Marketing and Communication, Taco Bell Malaysia

Gita Sriram has over 30 years of global marketing and communications experience, spanning the Americas, Middle East, and Asia. Driven by her innate curiosity of human nature and the constant need to challenge the status quo, Gita’s three decade career is punctuated with long stints in both marketing and communications sectors.

Gita is currently the Head of Marketing and Communications at Taco Bell Malaysia, working with local and international teams to launch the brand in Malaysia and to bring the brand message of Live Más to life amongst Malaysian fans, as well as creating new brand fans for the exceptionally craveable Mexican-inspired cuisine that is redefining the QSR experience in Malaysia

Prior to this, she was the COO at Publicis Groupe in Malaysia, leading teams to deliver on the promise of The Power of One – the group mission to bring together agile teams that put the client at the center of our business. Before moving to Malaysia, Gita helmed the ARC agency team within Publicis Groupe Philippines, championing Digital and Integrated Marketing Communications projects that require extensive cross-agency collaborations. Her responsibilities also include managing the teams for Digital, Shopper, CRM and PR, to ensure best-in-class engagement practices within the consumers Path to Purchase.

On the marketing side, Gita had worked across the Americans and several Asian markets, starting her career at Paramount in the US, before making her way across the pond to Asia. Throughout her career, she has helped launch numerous companies including Titan Industries in India (1991) and Chinadotcom in Hong Kong (1998). Gita has also set up regional offices for global multinational such as Revlon (1996), and introduced new products into markets, including Maggi for Nestle in India (1994), and Fielo Loyalty for Salesforce out of Buenos Aires (2012).  Gita was also the founding partner of Naked Communications in Asia (2010), the first Integrated Strategic Communications Consultancy in the region.

Gita moved to Advertising in 2003 when she relocated to the Leo Burnett office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where she launched Publicis Groupe’s integrated marketing communications agency, ARC Worldwide at a global level. She has since represented Publicis Groupe in senior management positions in Greater China, Japan and the Middle East, before heading back to Malaysia via the Philippines.
Gita has extensive experience in looking at brands with an integrated lens, ensuring that the brand assets, mission & vision, and business objectives are integrated into the communications plans seamlessly, and with a view to growing the business in partnership with all the stakeholders.
